steps2work is holding its third annual craft / art / bake / vendor fundraising sale on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 87 Walmer St., in the Norwood Community Centre. Tables are $45.00 for an eight-foot table and will include a hotdog, drink and bag of chips for one person. If additional people will be at the table and would like a hotdog, drink and chips, they will get the vendor hotdog combo deal for $6.00. There are 40 eight-foot tables available for rent. We are also requesting that each vendor provide one item of their choice to go towards raffle prizes. This is a fundraising event with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards classroom upgrades (used for job search, resume/cover letter writing, as well as educational workshops and training) for our participants at steps2work. Again this year, we will be working with Winnipeg Harvest and collecting canned food donations at the entrance. steps2work is a non-profit organization that supports people with mental illness, and/or learning disabilities, to assist them to transition back into the work force, so that they may lead happy and healthy productive lives. We do this through providing job coaching, education and community based work assessments, along with wellness activities. steps2work has helped hundreds of participants find gainful employment over many years, so that they feel they are a productive part of the community. Last year alone, our participants obtained 80 paid employment positions. This year we are looking to surpass that number. There will be a 50/50 draw and raffle prizes, as well, Santa Claus will be making an early appearance. Tables are limited so please order early so we may accommodate your needs. If you are interested in purchasing a table or would like to know more about this event, please contact: Scott Johnson Phone: 204-474-2303 ext. 4 Email: scott.johnson@steps2work.ca
